Section 1. Section 11-144, Arizona Revised
Statutes, is amended to read:
START_STATUTE11-144. Resolution of disputes; appeals;
termination of commission
A. After the formation of new counties is approved
pursuant to the election held under section 11-137 the commission shall act to
resolve disagreements involving terminating and transferring the affairs of the

taxing districts and actions of the distribution board and may hear disputes,
render opinions and issue orders. Pending an appeal, an opinion or
order of the commission has the same legal effect with respect to the county

state officers and agencies.

order of the commission made pursuant to any provision of this article may
appeal to the supreme court, and the hearing and determination of the appeal
shall be given a priority.
C. The commission shall complete its work not later
than December 31 of the second year following the organization of the new
county or counties, from and after which date the commission is terminated. END_STATUTE
